Ausmusic Events

In 2004 and 2005, Ausmusic ran the Ausmusic Forum.

In 2007 Ausmusic will facilitate a new and exciting music industry event in Melbourne.

A music event that brings together industry and education.

The Ausmusic approach to industry events is about sharing ideas and knowledge to strengthen the Australian Music Industry and ensure that the long term viability of performers, sound engineers, technical crew, producers, promoters, artist managers, booking agents, teachers, music retailers and more.

1.1 million people aged 15 years and over in Australia received training in the arts or culture as at April 2001. The most common fields in which people received training were in crafts (261,900 people), fine arts (192,700 people) and music (242,700 people).

Brining together music students, music teachers and music professionals will be a way of ensuring that vocational knowledge and skills are passed onto the next generation.  It is about inspiring people to be innovative and creative to compete internationally within the music industry.

Premier of Victoria, Steve Bracks, in a message from the Victorian Governments, “Maintaining the Advantage : Skilled Victorians” said, “To compete internationally we need to be creative and smart”. The Ausmusic Forum is designed to bring together all levels of the industry to create an environment that fosters creativity, smart thinking and the elements of learning for life.
